Venabygdsfjellet is located between Ringebu town center and Folldal in \u00d8sterdalen, approx. 3 hours drive from Oslo.<\/p>\n

Ski trails as far as the eye can see<\/h2>\n

Venabygdsfjellet may not be a well-known cross-country skiing destination, but from here you can follow groomed trails all the way to Lillehammer, or snowmobile tracks into Rondane. It’s up to you to decide how far you want to go. <\/span><\/p>\n

The mountain offers top-class ski trails and is very snow-sure with a long winter, largely due to its approx. 1000 m altitude. The area is child-friendly with relatively gentle terrain, but you can also find steeper mountains with views. <\/span><\/p>\n

The cabins are located right next to the ski trail network that stretches across the entire mountain. Here you really have ski in\/ski out. Venabygdsfjellet has approx. 150 km of groomed cross-country ski trails in both sheltered, sheltered forest trails and trails in the snowy mountains with fantastic views of Rondane.<\/span><\/p>\n

At l\u00f8yper.net<\/a> (search for Venabygdsfjellet) you can keep up to date on when the various trails are prepped. They are prepped many times a week throughout the winter. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ringebu is also home to Ringebu stave church, which is well worth a visit. Adjacent to the stave church you can find the vicarage, which is mainly open during the summer months. There are concerts, art exhibitions and a caf\u00e9. <\/p>\n

Rondane<\/h3>\n

You can enter Rondane from several directions, either on foot directly from Venabygdsfjellet, or from Gudbrandsdalen or the Folldal area. A nice and child-friendly trip is, for example, walking to Bj\u00f8rhollia (DNT cabin) or cycling to Grimsdalshytta (also DNT cabin). It is also possible to take day trips to the highest peaks (e.g. Storronden, Rondeslottet or Vinjeronden).<\/p>\n
